Physical Activity Is A Thing Of The Past, Make It Your Present

Your body was designed/created to work hard. What many people are not aware of is the fact that without this hard work your body actually begins to shut down on you. We are lucky enough - today - that we do not HAVE to work for everything. In fact, our lives are quite easy today compared to back in the day when it comes to physical activity. Have you ever sat back and wondered why - suddenly - our society faces an obesity epidemic? Or why more and more people are even overweight, even if only slightly? One of the main reasons is lack of physical activity.

This lack of physical activity is quite dangerous. Think about it, what makes you strong? Do muscles stay strong by sitting in front of a television or computer all day? Does your waistline stay small by sitting at your desk all day, sitting in the car or train on the way home, and then sitting on the couch after dinner until bed? These are not things most people think about voluntarily, but if you sit back and look at them, it is fairly obvious how important physical activity is.

See, physical activity is what keeps your body strong. Without proper physical activity your muscles will begin to deteriorate, leaving your body no choice but to become weak and fail leaving you susceptible to a number of physical ailments including life-threatening diseases. As we get older we naturally lose energy; meaning that the things that came easy in our twenties does not come so easy in our 40s or 50s. Most blame this on the "natural aging process", but this is not true.

Yes, you will get older and there is nothing you can do about it. But, this "aging process" that people blame so much on is within your grasp, reach, and control. See, it is your physical activity levels, throughout your life, that will determine just how gracefully you will age. Rather than leaving everything up to chance and finding excuse after excuse to not change the way you live, it is time to wake up and realize that we are what is causing the obesity epidemic in our society.

We have all heard of the myth of the "fountain of youth"; most of us have heard stories that imply that it has something to do with some magical liquid that can be ingested. While this may be only a myth, there are things - within your control - that you can do that have near the same effect. And the cool thing is they really exist and work. One of the greatest things you can do for yourself and your youth is to increase your level of physical activity.

Now, this does not mean start running, walking, jogging, or even swimming for hours a day. This form of exercise is great for your heart, but will not do anything for your muscle mass, which is what you need to stay strong and fight the "natural aging process". Instead you need to partake in proper strength training exercises; these are exercises that push and challenge you muscles to the point that they actually stay strong and firm. To do this you simply need to find 30 minutes 2-3 times a week; your schedule may be busy, but this is a very little bit of time to spend in order to save your life.

This level of physical activity will make the world of difference to you and your body. You will not only be stronger longer, but you will have more energy and confidence within even the first few months. No, this is not one of those fad get healthy and skinny overnight gimmicks; you have to work your way to health and fitness. Change your mindset, come to the realization that feeling good does not come overnight and you will be well on your way to an entirely new enjoyment of life. Physical activity makes you strong - in more ways than one - find time for it today.
