Personally, I feel that knowing how to deal with your shyness
around women is a little bit more effective than trying to just flat out
eliminate it altogether. Even really super confident guys will get shy
around a woman if they are attracted to her enough. It might take a 9 or
a 10 to make them feel that way, but they do usually still find
themselves feeling a little bit shy around a woman when she is good
looking enough. It's nice to want to eliminate your shyness altogether,
but that usually takes a lot of time and if you want to get a girlfriend
quickly, learning to deal with the shyness so that it doesn't become an
obstacle even if it is still there is usually the way to go.
At least, in my opinion, it is.
Here are some tips for dealing with shyness around women that seem to help most guys out:
1. You are going to feel a lot shier if you are constantly thinking about having to impress a woman.
It's natural to want to leave a woman with a good impression of you. I am not suggesting that this should not be a goal that you have. However, when you set the bar too high, as in wanting to come across as the most impressive guy she has ever met, you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself. The reaction that most men have when they feel that kind of pressure is to become a little more quiet and obviously that is not going to help you out any. Stop thinking that you have to be the most impressive guy that she has ever met. Just focus on making good conversation with her and flirting with her instead. It takes the pressure off and most of the time, it gets the job done.
2. Go out to places where you feel most comfortable.
If you tend to feel more outgoing in one venue as opposed to another, then that venue where you feel most comfortable is probably the place that you want to go. For example, you might feel at ease going to a bar and having a drink and talking to a woman, but hitting a noisy, busy club where everyone is bumping into one another might not be your thing. That's okay. Play up to your strengths and you should find that you do fine with women. Even if you happen to be on the shy side.
3. Have someone go out with you when you want to socialize.
Some call this having a "wing" and it does help for a lot of guys. You may find that you have a friend who is much better at getting the initial conversation with a woman started and once that happens, you are able to open up a bit more and have an easier time making conversation. The one thing that you have to watch out for when you have a wingman along with you is to make sure that you don't end up competing with one another. Quite often, that is what happens and it just makes things harder.
At least, in my opinion, it is.
