Valentine's Day will always be a day with a strong theme of love running right through it. Every year couples try and do something to celebrate the occasion such as going on a short trip together to somewhere such as Paris, or booking a weekend at a spa hotel to relax together for a few days. Most couples always organise a meal together for just the two of them, going somewhere different, far away from where they usually go, and making the effort to have a lovely time together to try and mark the day as one they will remember for a long time. A lot of couples decide they want to go on a longer holiday, and end up spending weeks together in another country exploring a new environment together which they may not have ever seen before. Of course, none of this is really possible for parents, as they need to ensure their babies are being looked after constantly.
For parents, Valentine's Day is a way to show affection to one another, maybe even going out together for a meal, but they can't go away for any real length of time as they need to care for their child. Children must come first for parents, and going on a weekend break in Paris isn't the way to ensure a child is fed and warm. For this reason many parents try and incorporate their children in Valentine's Day, giving them something to do and have fun with, while also helping one parent show their love for the other.
One way in which parents can incorporate their children into Valentine's Day is by making a costume for them to wear amongst a display they have made. A costume such as a love heart will look adorable on any child, and no parent will be able to resist the heart-warming gesture once they've seen them dressed up in a heart amongst a love themed display. Another way to incorporate children into Valentine's Day is to give them as a present, dressing them up to look like a box of something, when really the child is waiting to surprise the other parent with a kiss inside.
On top of these various different ways to incorporate children into Valentine's Day, parents should give cards to each other, which are actually the real gift. These can contain coupons for a lovely evening out or a spa treatment somewhere nice. These don't have to exclude children, as even they can sign them to one parent or the other to make them look even more adorable and easily received.
